Biography

Dr. Minji Yang is a bilingual and bicultural 1.5-generation Korean-American counseling psychologist. She is currently a tenure-track counselor faculty who sees clients, oversees an APA accredited internship program, and conducts research. She also has a private practice where she sees clients via telehealth. Dr. Yang specializes in working with BIPOC and in particular Asian/Asian American populations on issues related to immigration, identity development, intergenerational trauma, discrimination, anxiety, depression, and more and has practiced in the field for 7 years.

My Approach

I have an integrated approach and pull from psychodynamic, emotion-focused, and cognitive-behavioral theories while considering multicultural factors and contexts. I fundamentally believe that each person has lived their life to the best of their ability, however, have developed various ways to cope due to various life circumstances that no longer are effective or are considered unhealthy. Hence, I work with my clients together by using the above approaches to develop healthier and balanced lifestyles. I look forward to working with you!
