Biography

WonJoon Yang is an LMSW currently working at an outpatient mental health clinic in Queens, NY as a psychotherapist. He grew up in Korea until he was 10 years old and immigrated to NYC with his family and attended public schools. He is very experienced in navigating cultural differences in Korean and Korea American communities.

My Approach

My sessions focus on exploring client's default thought patterns and behaviors which cause conflicts in various situation. I believe in holding my clients accountable and responsible for their actions and acknowledge the impact they have onto themselves and others. I practice based on person-centered therapy which aims to resolve and/or achieve goals based on encompasses social, environmental and psychological aspects on the person's default coping mechanism and problem sovling skills.
