Jessica Kim, LCSW
Jessica Kim is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience providing mental health services in many contexts including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community counseling centers, school-based services, government agencies, and private practice. As a result, she brings a wide range of clinical insight in serving the varying mental health needs of children, adults, and families. Her passion for bridging culturally situated mental health care for Asian Americans led her to pursue doctoral studies full time at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice where she is currently a PhD candidate of social welfare. Jess is also an activist for the inclusion of AAPI curricula in K-12 education and serves on the boards of Make Us Visible NJ as well as Asian American Alliance in South Jersey. She is a sought after speaker and consultant on mental health, racialized trauma, and advocacy in the AAPI community to universities, corporations, and organizations across the country. She is a lucky wife and mother to three wonderful children, and her lived experience of family mental illness brings a life-long commitment to mental health advocacy. She loves the church and strives to make mental health care more accessible to Asian American congregations. Jess received her B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University, her M.S. in social work from Columbia University, and completed a post-master’s fellowship in child and adolescent mental health at Yale University Child Study Center.
